Sister Agnes Edward Henwood, O.P., who served at convents in the archdiocese and in New Jersey, died Dec. 15 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Cherry Hill, N.J. She was 101.

She was a member of the Dominican Sisters of Hope.

She served at Mount St. Mary’s Convent, Newburgh, 1933-1949 and from 1967 until her retirement in 2008, and at St. Augustine’s Convent, Larchmont, 1952-1967. She also served at a convent in Woodbury, N.J., 1949-1952.

Born in Philadelphia, she entered the Dominican Sisters in 1931 and made final vows in 1939.

She is survived by her brothers, William, Thomas and Francis, and her sisters, Margaret Dymond and Louise Murphy. A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 18 at The Founders Chapel at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh. Burial was at the Dominican Sisters Cemetery in Newburgh.
