Sister Angelica Marie Troy, S.C., who served for more than half a century as a pharmacist and pharmacy purchasing coordinator at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, died Dec. 4 at Mount St. Vincent Convent, Riverdale. She was 92.

She was a pharmacist at St. Vincent’s in Manhattan, 1948-1987, before becoming coordinator of pharmacy purchasing, 1987-1999. She continued to serve there as a volunteer, 1999-2008.

In 2008, Sister Angelica Marie received the Elizabeth Seton Award, presented annually to honor a Sister of Charity for her service.

She was a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Kisco, 1943-1944; St. Gabriel, New Rochelle, 1942-1943; and St. Lawrence Academy, Manhattan, 1942.

She also traveled to Thailand to assist Cambodian, Vietnamese and Laotian refugees of the Khmer Rouge genocide in the late 1970s.

Born in Elmhurst, Queens, she entered the Sisters of Charity in 1940 and made final vows in 1946.

She earned a bachelor’s in chemistry from Fordham University and received permanent New York State certification in pharmacy.

A Funeral Mass was offered on Dec. 7 at the Immaculate Conception Chapel at Mount St. Vincent. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.
