Sister Ann Edwin Dunne, F.S.P.

Sister Ann Edwin Dunne, F.S.P., a registered nurse who served at health centers and schools, died July 31. She was 89.

She served as school nurse at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, 1990-1995, and at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers in 1995.

She was a nurse at Mount St. Francis Infirmary in Peekskill, 1982-1986, 1972-1973 and 1949-1952; Maryknoll Health Center in Ossining, 1982-1986; Nazareth Life Center, 1980-1981; and Ladycliff College, 1973-1980.

She also served in the infirmary at Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Home, the Bronx, 1971-1972; Our Lady Queen of Angels, a sisters’ retirement home in Peekskill, 1970-1971; and in the children’s infirmary of St. Joseph’s Home in Peekskill, 1948-1949.

She taught at St. Matthew’s School, Hastings-on-Hudson, 1952-1953, and at Sacred Heart, Highland Falls, 1953-1954.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Peace in 1946 and professed final vows in 1953. She held a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ladycliff College and earned her nursing license at St. John’s Medical Center, Yonkers.

A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 4 at Marian Woods in Hartsdale, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
