Sister Audrey Timothy, O.P., who taught for 42 years at the Lavelle School for the Blind, died Dec. 1 at Nyack Hospital. She was 84. She taught high school students at the Lavelle School in the Bronx from 1953 to 1995, when she returned to the Dominican Convent in Blauvelt where she did volunteer work.

She also served in the education and care of youth at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Goshen, 1946-1948; St. Dominic’s Home, Blauvelt, where she

was a group mother, 1948-1952; and at the House of Calvary, the Bronx, 1952-1953. Born in Manhattan, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt in 1943 and professed final vows in 1948. She held a bachelor’s degree from Dominican College, Blauvelt, and a master’s in social studies from Columbia

University Teachers College. She is survived by a sister, Sister Hubert Marie, O.P., of the Blauvelt congregation. A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 4 at

St. Dominic’s Convent, with burial in St. Dominic’s Convent Cemetery.
