Sister Cecilia Camargo, R.S.H.M.

Sister Cecilia Camargo, R.S.H.M., who served in Westchester County communities for 25 years, died March 12 in Marymount Convent in Tarrytown. She was 93.

Sister Cecilia served in Westchester County, 1983-2008. From 1985 to 2008, she ministered to the retired sisters living at Marymount Convent, and volunteered at the RSHM Life Center, Sleepy Hollow, and Tarrytown Hall Care Center. She served in the R.S.H.M. retreat ministry at St. Joseph’s Center, Tarrytown, 1983-1985.

She also served in Sag Harbor, Brooklyn and Colombia.

In 2009, Sister Cecilia retired to Marymount Convent, where she continued to volunteer.

Born in Boyaca, Colombia, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in 1953 and professed final vows in 1960.

Her family in Colombia survives her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 16 at Marymount Convent. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
