Sister Clelia Giancane, M.S.C., who did pastoral work at Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan, died May 22 at St. Cabrini Residence in Philadelphia. She was 91. She served at Cabrini from 1984 to 2006 and also from 1967 to 1977, when it was known as Columbus Hospital. For the past 20 years she provided pastoral care in the emergency room. Previously she was a circulating technician in the operating room, where she assisted nurses. She also served in health care in Seattle and Chicago and in Italy. Born in Italy, she entered the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 1934 and professed final vows in 1943. She held certification in pastoral care. Surviving is a sister in Italy, Domenica Giancane. A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 30 at Cabrini Medical Center Chapel. Burial was in St. Cabrini Cemetery in West Park.
