Sister Dolores Augustine, P.V.M.I., who served for decades in pastoral and social services in Manhattan, Monroe and other locations, died May 30 at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. She was 99.

Sister Dolores served as New York local superior in Manhattan, 1966-1969. She served in Monroe, Rome, N.Y., Brooklyn, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

“She is the last of the Sisters who lived in the community during the lifetime of the foundress, Servant of God Mother Mary Teresa Tallon,” the Sisters said in a statement.

Born in Hastings, Minn., she entered the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate in 1943 and made final vows in 1949. She held a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Scranton.

A Funeral Mass was offered June 4 in Immaculate Conception Chapel at Marycrest Convent in Monroe. Burial was at Our Lady of the Assumption Cemetery in Monroe.
