Sister Jane Marie McCormack, P.V.M.I.

Sister Jane Marie McCormack, P.V.M.I., who served her community at Marycrest in Monroe, died July 12 at Tallon Terrace Residence there. She was 89. She was the motherhouse portress at Marycrest from 1975 until 2002, after which she retired. She had previously served there as secretary at the convent and librarian at St. Albert's Junior Seminary in Middletown, 1971-1975, and as local treasurer, organist and choir director, 1958-1961. Born in Oswego, she entered the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate in 1947 and professed final vows in 1953. She is survived by a brother, Francis McCormack. A Funeral Mass was offered July 14 at Immaculate Conception Chapel of Marycrest, with burial in Assumption Cemetery there.
