Sister Maria Magdala O’Boyle, I.H.M., who was a teacher, died Oct. 28 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 105.
She taught in Manhattan at St. Alphonsus School, 1934-1942. She also taught on Long Island, and in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Born in Scranton, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1922 and professed final vows in 1930. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from Marywood College.
A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 1 at Our Lady of Peace Residence, with burial in St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
