Sister Mary Cassiana Wall, C.R., who had been a principal and teacher in the archdiocese, died Sept. 16 at Resurrection Nursing Home in Castleton. She was 91.
She served variously as a teacher, principal and community supervisor in the following schools: St. Francis of Assisi, Newburgh, 1997-2003 and 1979-1988; Maria Regina High School, Hartsdale, 1965-1967; St. Casimir’s School, Yonkers, 1988-1997, 1959-1965 and 1950-1957; St. Joseph’s, Poughkeepsie, 1945-1947; and St. Clemens Mary, Manhattan, 1943-1945.
Born in Yonkers, she entered the Sisters of the Resurrection in 1931 and professed final vows in 1940.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 20 at the Sisters of the Resurrection Provincialate Chapel in Castleton, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery there.
