Sister Vita Marie Citrano, C.S.JB., who tended the bookstore at St. John Villa Academy on Staten Island for 25 years, died Dec. 10 at Mount St. John Convent in Purchase. She was 88.
Prior to going to St. John Villa in 1962 she served in Cairo, N.Y. and at parishes in Brooklyn and Connecticut as well as at the novitiate house in Glen Cove.
Born in Johnstown, Pa., she entered the Sisters of St. John the Baptist in 1952 and professed final vows in 1959.
Her twin sister, Sister Claire Citrano, C.S.JB., survives her. A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 13 at Mt. St. John Convent Chapel. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
